Long Island Wine & Food Festival 2010

Guests will meet renowned chefs, enjoy local wines and restaurant fare and experience the rural character of Long Island's East End.
The three-day festival kicks off with an exclusive cocktail reception on Friday, June 25. On Saturday, June 26, the wineries will offer wine and food pairings, live music and other treats. The festival culminates on Sunday, June 27, with a Grand Tasting at Mitchell Park in the historic village of Greenport, a working seaport since the 18th century.

Friday, June 25
7-10 p.m.—VIP Kickoff Reception at Roanoke Vineyards, with local flavors prepared by a Mano Osteria & Wine Bar and over four dozen local wines.
7-9 p.m.—Live music on the patio (weather permitting) at Bella Vita Vineyard, Peconic Lane, Peconic, with wine by the glass and specials.
Saturday, June 26

Mitchell Park, Front Street, Greenport, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.—Juried Art Show sponsored by North Fork Chamber of Commerce.
Bedell Cellars, noon-2 p.m.—Cooking demo and wine pairing with chef Noah of Noah's Place, the exciting new Greenport eatery.
Castello di Borghese, noon-2 p.m.—Rolling in Dough, wood-fired, brick-oven pizza wagon. 2-4 p.m.—Cooking demo with renowned NYC chef Lia Fallon.
Comtesse Thérèse at The Tasting Room, 1-3:30 p.m.—Complimentary escargot with North Fork parsley and garlic sauce created and served by chef Arie Pavlou, executive chef at the soon-to-open Comtesse Thérèse Bistro.
Croteaux Rosé Vineyards, 1-2 p.m.— French salads with classic dijon vinaigrette, cooking demo by Paula Croteau of the Farmhouse Kitchen. Pairing with Croteaux Cuvée Sparkling.
Harbes Family Farm & Vineyard—Chocolate-covered strawberries paired with wine.
Jamesport Vineyards, noon-5 p.m—Wines paired with local food: “Pinot & Pig,” “Sparkling & Spice” and “Sauvignon Blanc and Shellfish.”
Lieb Cellars, 5-7 p.m.—Educational 2-hour tasting of fair-trade organic chocolate paired with wines, $45.
Martha Clara, noon-6 p.m—2009 barrel tasting with winemakers Juan Micieli-Martinez and Robin Epperson.
Palmer Vineyards, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.—Special reserve wine flight, including barrel selections, with chocolate pairing. Also offered Sunday, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Bella Vita Vineyard, 1-4 p.m.—Riesling paired with desserts by Junda's Pastry Crust & Crumbs.
Sparkling Pointe, noon, 2 & 4 p.m.—Winemaker Gilles Martin hosts “Champagne - Methode Champénoise,” discussing method, history and trends. Live music in the tasting room.
Waters Crest, 2-6 p.m.—Book signing and food demonstration with famed Long Island chef Tom Schaudel. His band, Hurricane, performs 6-9 p.m.
Sunday, June 27
Grand Tasting, 2-6 p.m., Mitchell Park, Greenport, with offerings from more than 50 local wineries and restaurants in a scenic waterfront setting. Tickets for the Grand Tasting are $50 per person or $90 per couple. Space permitting, a limited number of tickets will be available at the gate.
