This notice is issued pursuant to Part 617 of the implementing regulations pertaining to Article 8 (State Environmental Quality Review) of the Environmental Conservation Law.

TITLE OF ACTION: Acceptance of Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and setting a combined SEQR and change of zone public hearing for the Condominiums at Sandy Hills.

SEQR STATUS: Type 1

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED ACTION: The action involves an application for a change of zone from J-2 Business and A-1 Residence to J-6 Business and MF (Multiple Family) to develop 39.38 acres with 135 multiple family units (10% affordable) and 13,000 square feet of commercial use along State Route 25 in Middle Island, NY. The public hearing for the combined hearing will be held on August 5, 2008 and the SEQR comment period will end on the close of business on August 15, 2008.

LOCATION: East Side of County Route 21 immediately north of State Route 25 in Middle Island, NY

A Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) (Revised June 2008) has been completed and accepted for the proposed action described above. A public hearing on the DSEIS will be held on August 5, 2008 6:00 PM in the Brookhaven Town Auditorium, 2nd Floor, located at One Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738. Comments are requested and will be accepted by the contact person or the Town Clerks Office until the close of business on August 15, 2008.

POTENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS:

A Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) has been prepared to examine the potential environmental impacts of the proposed change of zone. The environmental parameters addressed in the DSEIS include: land use, zoning, topography, open space, endangered species, geology and geohydrology, surface water and wetlands, natural resources, economic conditions, community services and facilities, roads and traffic, air quality and noise, community character, archaeological and historical resources, energy resources, cumulative impacts and alternatives.

PUBLIC NOTICE

NEW TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITY

Manorville

AT&T Mobility (AT&T) proposes the installation of a new outdoor equipment compound, replacement of an existing LIPA transmission pole and installation of two arrays of three antennas each on the replacement pole at Ryerson Avenue and Lane Road, Manorville, Suffolk County, New York. AT&T proposes a 15-foot by 26.6-foot gravel compound surrounded by an 8-foot high chain link fence, the removal and replacement of the existing 127.6 foot LIPA transmission pole with a new 129.8-foot high LIPA transmission pole. One array of the 3 antennas will be flush mounted on the replacement pole at a centerline elevation of 100 feet above ground level and the other array of 3 antennas will be flush mounted to the replacement pole at 110 feet above ground level. Proposed equipment cabinets will be installed on a new 10-foot by 22-foot concrete slab. Access to the equipment will be via a proposed gravel access drive from Lane Road. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the SOUND BEACH FIRE DISTRICT, at a Regular Meeting thereof, held on July 8, 2008, duly adopted the following:

BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to the provisions of the Town Law of the State of New York that the SOUND BEACH FIRE DISTRICT, by adoption of a resolution, authorizes the purchases of the following:

1. Ambulance with related equipment not to exceed $190,000.00; and

2. Miscellaneous equipment including handlights, scott mask head harness, radio repeater, Minitor V pagers, CO Meters, EMS uniforms, EMS helmets, and Class A uniforms not to exceed $32,000.00; and be it further

RESOLVED, that said purchases shall be paid from the Equipment Reserve Fund, presently existing including, legal, contract, publications, title search, etc., not to exceed the total sum of $222,000.00; and be it further

RESOLVED, that this resolution is adopted subject to permissive referendum as provided in the General Municipal Law of the State of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Secretary of the Fire District shall, within ten (10) working days of adoption of this resolution, publish a notice within the North Shore Sun setting forth the date of the adoption of the resolution and an abstract of the resolution concisely stating the purpose and effect thereof and that the resolution was adopted subject to a permissive referendum.
