Body found at Plum Island
Police ask for public's help in identifying man   10 comments below

SUFFOLK TIMES FILE PHOTO
The body of an unidentified man has been found washed up on Plum Island, authorities said Friday.

A private security guard on foot patrol came upon the clothed corpse about 4 p.m. Thursday at the southwest corner of the island, which is home to a federal animal disease research lab, Suffolk Police said.

The man was described as black, about 6-foot-2 with a large build and "very long fingers." He was wearing a light-green golf shirt, brown loafers, size 10, blue plaid boxer shorts and a belt with a buckle inscribed with "Stacy Adams," officials said.

He also wore green cargo pants with buttons that read "God Body Collection." The partially decomposed body, which was partially covered by sand, showed no obvious signs of trauma, police said.

The county medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Police at (631) 852-6392.

"The man had a well-healed head injury and indications of prior neurosurgery, a post-mortem examination showed. He had been taking the medications Dilantin and Phenobarbital before he died."

Really how hard would it be to find the identity of this guy given all the evidence at the scene the known seizure drugs in his system the holes in his head at least assuming he was from the nearby area. What about a picture of the guy.
