Judge Patricia Quigley was on the bench for the Monday, May 5 session of Shelter Island Justice Court.

A speeding charge against Joseph J. Basani of East Marion (41 mph in a 30-mph zone) was reduced to failure to signal for a turn and he was fined $100 plus $55.

A lights violation against Nancy M. Burke of Shelter Island was dismissed on proof.

A criminal summons for failure to appear in court was issued for Christopher Calloway of Shelter Island, charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and without an inspection certificate.

Jose A. Corsantez of Aquebogue was fined $40 plus a state surcharge of $55 for driving without a license.

Donn L. Constanzo of Hampton Bays was fined $25 plus $55 for driving while using a cell phone without a hands-free device.

A charge of driving with a suspended registration against Blaz Gorse of Shelter Island was reduced to driving an unregistered vehicle, and he was fined $50 plus $55.

A charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated against Theo G. Gruttman of Shelter Island was reduced to DWI and he was fined $1,000 plus $190. Mr. Gruttman also received a one-year conditional discharge, had his license revoked for six months and was assigned 100 hours of community service. Charges of failure to keep to the right and a seat belt violation were dismissed.

Luis R. Guichay of East Hampton was fined $40 plus $55 for driving without a license.

Keith A. Kouris of Patchogue was fined $20 pus $55 for driving and using a cell phone without a hands-free device.

Juan B. Lopez was fined $20 plus $55 for driving an unregistered vehicle. A charge of driving without insurance and a license plate violation were dismissed.

A DWI charge against Michelle Misakyants of Brooklyn was reduced to driving while ability impaired and she was fined $400 plus $80. Ms. Misakyants's license was suspended for 90 days and she was given 56 hours of community service. Charges of driving without a license to the left of the center lane in a no-passing zone were dismissed.

Gregorio Picca of Mastic was fined $20 plus $55 for driving while using a cell phone without a hands-free device.

Davit Revishvili of Richboro, Pennsylvania was fined $40 plus $55 for driving without a license. A charge of driving without insurance was dismissed.

A charge of driving an uninspected vehicle against John S. Tehan of Shelter Island was dismissed.

The case against Alfredo Valentin Doherty of Shelter Island, charged with assault in the third degree, was adjourned for six months in contemplation of dismissal. He also made restitution of $60.

Nancy Graham of Shelter Island was fined $500 for a building construction violation. A second construction violation was dismissed.

Two construction violations against Tamer Pepemehmetogus of Greenport were dismissed.

Vincent Testa of Shelter Island was fined $450 for a permanent pool fencing violation. A temporary fencing violation, a violation of the New York State residential code and a building construction violation were dismissed.

Ten cases were adjourned until later dates on the court's calendar — eight at the request of the defendants or their attorneys, one by mutual consent and one for a bench trial.

The May 19 session of Justice Court will be reported in a later issue of the Reporter.
