Arthur Fuentes-Chang, 61, of Broad Street in Greenport, N.Y., was hit by a car as he rode a bicycle through the intersection of Center and Second streets in the village around 4:18 p.m. on Sunday, said Southold Town police. According to the report, Mr. Fuentes-Chang was northbound on Second Street, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Center Street and proceeded through, when a vehicle driven by Jaqueline Bradley, 18, of Greenport struck him in the middle of the intersection.
Police said Ms. Bradley failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign but did not say whether she was cited in the incident at press time. Members of the Greenport Fire Department treated Mr. Fuentes-Chang at the scene, and he was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center for further treatment, said the police report.
