Southold shooting victim dies

Lukasz Pasko, the 26-year-old Southold man who was severely injured from a gunshot wound to the neck last weekend, died on Saturday, said a spokesperson for DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home.

The wake for Mr. Pasko will take place this coming Thursday, Feb. 4 at Defriest-Grattan in Southold from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue.  Burial will take place in Poland.

Police charged Southold resident Ryan Lademann, also 26, with second-degree assault, for allegedly shooting Mr. Pasko with a rifle at Mr. Lademann's Pine Neck Road residence last Saturday night, police reported. Southold Town Police Capt. Flatley described the incident as "more of an accident,” and that Mr. Lademann told police he was cleaning his gun and it accidentally discharged.

Mr. Lademann was arraigned last Sunday before Judge William Price, who released him on his own recognizance.
