Matilda Blaney of Riverhead died March 1 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 94.
She was born to Edward and Cosette Groeber in Brooklyn on June 10, 1915. She was raised in Glendale, where she graduated from high school and, in 1944, married John Blaney.
She was primarily a homemaker and later did clerical work for local companies in Mineola.
Predeceased by her husband, Ms. Blaney is survived by her daughter, Linda Becht of Tobyhanna, Pa., and one grandchild.
Graveside services were held March 5 at Calverton National Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
Memorial donations may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
