Agathe Kitty Hansen of Aquebogue, a former resident of Peconic Retreat, died Jan. 24 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 99.

She was born Nov. 21, 1910, in Norway to Herman Hansen and Otelie Kristensen-Gautland. She was raised in Norway before moving to the United States.

In 1931, she married Osten Hansen in Brooklyn. Ms. Hansen worked as a homemaker, and according to her family, enjoyed cooking, gardening and being with her family.

She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Floral Park and, more recently, of New Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Predeceased by her husband in 1980, she is survived by her children, Howard and Melvin; siblings Sverre Baskar, Hedvig Eitland, Asta Oftedal, Helga Wehus and Anny Haegeland; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Family received visitors Jan. 29 at R.H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A prayer service was led Jan. 30 at the funeral home by the Rev. Melvin Hansen. Interment followed at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Mattituck Presbyterian Church Haiti Relief Fund, P.O. Box 1417, Mattituck, NY 11952, or the Samaritan's Purse Help for Haiti Fund, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
