First, lay off the Trooper, people we love or are in love with do underhanded things that we can be completely unaware of, your kid might be high right now, your spouse might be doing the nasty with your best friend and you are clueless. Secondly, Druglord ! Kingpin ! please where are the kilos, the airplanes, the millions in street value drug product ?? ! A half ounce and a bag of pain killers , sounds like most housewives between the age of 25 and 40 . An automotive repair shop with drugs and partying….absolutely shocking ! Mechanics have always been known for clean living, tea and cookies, let’s see they like fast cars , hot women, fancy shoes some have desires that get them into trouble , and the desire for fast living and ambition get them into stupid situations where they make very bad choices. But these are also the guys who get out of bed at 3a.m. in the morning to tow you home in the rain from the expressway, also the same guys who look at your car, tweak some things and say , no charge, no big deal. I’m pretty sure that all of the electrical, mechanical repairs at Sap’s shop didn’t fix themselves, besides hauling in those obvious millions on drug deals , somebody was actually working. As far as hinting that his family is reaping some kind of benefit out of this bad, sad and embarrassing situation, F U ! Yes they will stand by his side, and they will forgive him, and they will pray for him and all others who go astray, that’s what family does . If your family and friends wouldn’t do that for you then you are truly a lonely soul, and this fact helps me understand your cold view of the world. People do stoopid stuff, people do wrong stuff, people will pay their dues here and elsewhere. He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.

Dave is a much better person that 95% of you give him credit for being, that's because anyone who doesn't know him can call him scum for selling drugs. Maybe he did sell se drugs, but ringleader of some huge drug gang, come on, not even close. I'd also like to see a business owner that hasn't taken cash in exchange for no tax on a bill, are you serious. Bottom line..... He is a VERY nice respected, smart man, whom is well liked in te community. Did he sell a little bit of cocaine, maybe, any more than that is a our asumption and a lie. As far as putting his business in others name, what's wrong with being safe with your assets. Did anyone know he was selling drugs, like his fiancé or his family? The answer is NO, were they all benefiting from it NO. There was no lavish lifestyle, there was a guy who was a good mechanic that owned a repair shop that has been LINKED to no more than 20 grams of cocaine, 100 vicoden pills and a few small weight sales. People need to give the guy a break, he's in jail now are you happy? And if you think that solved your drug problem in riverhead then you probably haven't been there and shouldn't be making comments about people and things you don't know about. Give him a break it is what it is and he's doing the time. SAP Enterprises is running fine and will remain a profitable business because of what he made it. No, he isn't the only one who did wrong; he put his business name, race car, personal vehicle and all asset accounts in his family's names. Doesn't that make them conspirators? They knew for years what he was doing; I'm sure they also profited indirectly. He will get out of jail in 2yrs max; and go back to doing the same thing without skipping a beat. He will have a butt load of money in his sister's name and a functioning business to welcome him back. The 2 women he was "dating" at the time were Divello and the trooper. Both have lost their six figure jobs and continue to face financial repercussions, as well as further legal issues. Sappy is the only one laughing and scamming his way down victory lane these days:)

And his past....Good God, everyone has a past. Has no one ever did something stupid when they were young? We cannot be silent on this matter. No one is above the LAW. You imply in your views a corrupt state attorney general who is hiding something by not investigating this.. Interesting. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the female trooper and maybe other troopers were very involved in this cover up conspiracy and police corruption. I also think some of Riverheads police are criminally involved and also guilty of conspiracy and corruption. After all SAP could just be the fall guy and the tip of the iceberg. According to his sister, Judy Thilberg, Dave was not the only one. also, I think Newsday and FOX 5 should be called on to investigate this story as it is very news worthy, and take it to the highest level. If our trust in our highest form of state security ( STATE POLICE) is breached then surely our civil rights won't be far behind. Fact is, the female state trooper was brought to the attention of the state attorney general's office by Assemblyman Marc Alessi's office at my request. The AG chose to ignore the information. I know why they ignored it and it was not for acceptable reasons. SAP's sister is correct to say that her brother was not the only one who did wrong. For the female trooper who I am very familar with to say that she had no knowledge of what SAP, who she was engaged to be married to at the time, was doing is totally unbelievable. Obviously, I would and could have a lot to say to someone who is actually interested in the truth. I am not holding my breath.

This is a news worthy story because one, sap was a business owner and a business owner dealing drugs from his place of business is a serious matter in this town of high crime, stabbings, assaults and rapes. We must rid the town of these types for our town and childrens sake. Just as we have zero tolerance of drugs in our schools. Tolerance of drug sales in our community is just as grievous. Dave was not some low level dealer that you'd commonly find on riverhead's police blotter, he had an expansive network on the island. Some say not newsworthy, I beg to differ. The poison he dealt almost killed someone. Some say he was a nice guy, yeah he was nice if you bought coke from him. He was arrogant as they get. The Thurms family (a very respectable family) who owns the parking lot across the street form his business asked him to not park his junk cars on their property for a long time to no avail and at their cost, had to put up a fence to keep this scum from trespassing on their property with no help from the PD. The Riverhead police cuddled the creature for a long time. Dave's business was his front and should, and will be, confiscated by the state under the N.Y.S. drug forfeiture laws. So close it NOW before anymore embarrassment to our town. The state attorney general should be looking into this matter as it involves a female state trooper on the take and the cover up of her actions by internal affairs. The after hour coke parties at that repair shop and riverheads police involvement should also be investigated and published. I and a lot people I know use to have the utmost respect for the state police compared to the MAYBERRY police on the East End, but now that's even questionable. Until the truth comes out, no one on the entire East End should rest, and WHY NOT?

I am just glad that when his place was raided this time that Dennis, the Sarge, and the Lt didn't have their Super Boat in his "chop shop" this time getting discount work done!! When my dad was on the force he was told to avoid known felons and low level drug dealers, yet you could never pass "SAP" Enterprises without seeing a Cop car parked out front. And as for the "State Trooper " investigator??? She grew up in this town knew him and his history, attended the same high school and slept in the same circle of associates. She later becomes intertwined with this convicted and known felon, later living with and becoming engaged to him. She knew of his past conviction yet continued her relationship and claims to not know what he was into. What kind of "Investigator " was she?? Yea, the "Blue wall of silence" !! Yup, only outshadowed by the "Great Wall of the obvious" Sappo is a user, dealer, womanizer, and utimatly a fool, for I have never seen a successful drug dealer. As far as the dirty cops - did you ever hear of the blue wall - well it is always going to be there and they are always going to get away with things that the common citizen doesn't. It is not fair, but unfortunately the truth!! However after all of this is said and done - the entire police force looks like a bunch of jerks!!! Not such great detective work I say!!

As far as sentencing these drug lords, as long as they are not killing people and all they are doing is pushing this crap around, hell I would rather they had to do some hard labor 7 days a week for 2 to 6 years around their own communities rather than sit on their ass in prison.

Unfortunately, once again, the police protect their own and get away with everything. It's really unfair that a State Trooper can be so personally involved and get away with a hand slap. This is the real story. We spend millions on police forces that put petty drug dealers away everyday, who cares. I want to know what penalty this Trooper faces. She is supposed to be an investigator and didn't know anything, sure. She definately knew of his prior convictions. I wish people, including cops, would start holding the police responsible for their actions. The problem is that cops don't want to risk their cushy jobs by causing internal issues. If the police would follow the same rules they enforce then the community would have much more respect for them. Vera, please follow-up with a story about this Trooper and how about some investigation into the constant rumors about Riverhead cops and coke. They have to live by the same laws we do.

The sad part of all of this is that Sapienza is a real nice, helpful, likeable guy that is an excellent mechanic and really has a talent. However drugs can ruin you! He is not perfect nor innocent, however I hope that when this is over he stays on the straight and narrow, as we all know in the end it is never worth it. I believe his business will go on without him and thrive even better when he returns. Let all the young kids learn a lesson here - when you have a god given talent - stick with it even if you don't make as much money as could being a crook - in the end it is never worth it.
